SBD @ Modernism 2019
Santa Barbara Designs is proud once again to be featured in The Christopher Kennedy Compound Modernism Week Show House. This year, two talented Interior Designers specified three of our signature umbrellas.
Chris Barrett, of Chris Barrett Design, Los Angeles, CA incorporated our Mirasol umbrella into a loungey fire pit conversation area. The designer selected a 7.5′ hexagon shaped canopy in Regatta Whitecap, underlined with her own fabric, Chris Barrett Trillium AE/ Parisian Plum. The Mirasol valance is finished with a Plum braid trim.
Lori Paranjape of Mrs. Paranjape Design + Interiors, Nashville, TN specified two of our umbrellas. First, for the striking in-pool installation, she specified a 9′ Paseo umbrella. Lori wanted to create a bold yet elegant look and chose Regatta Cabana Black stripe with Green braid trim.
For her satellite Living Room terrace, she specified our ever-popular 9′ Double Decker in a matching Regatta Cabana Black stripe with Green braid trim on a keyhole valance.
One of Modernism Week’s most successful signature annual events – The Christopher Kennedy Compound Modernism Week Show House – which combines the work of several interior designers who each design a specific area – was started by renowned Interior Designer Christopher Kennedy in 2014. Ticket sales to the event raise funds for Modernism Week’s education and preservation efforts. Cumulatively, all his Showhouses have raised upwards of $250,000 for Modernism Week charities.
