Hampton Bay’s Historic Haven

Image of umbrellas and furniture at Canoe Place

Standing where two picturesque waterways converge in Hampton Bays, you can almost hear the echoes of centuries past—beach-bound socialites making their way east, visiting dignitaries seeking refuge, discreet celebrity rendezvous, and late-night revelries that became legend. Now, after years of meticulous restoration, Canoe Place Inn opens a new chapter while honoring every story that came before.

The renovation team understood they weren’t just restoring a building—they were preserving a legacy of gathering. “We kept thinking about all the conversations that happened here,” the project designer reflects, gesturing toward the newly landscaped grounds where our Montecito umbrellas now provide shade. “Friends reconnecting, families creating traditions, cultures coming together. We wanted to create spaces worthy of those moments, both past and future.”

Our custom outdoor umbrellas, crafted with solid oak frames and Summer Sky fabric, were chosen to complement this delicate balance between centuries-old charm and contemporary luxury. The scalloped valance adds a gentle sophistication that feels both timeless and fresh—much like the inn itself. Against the backdrop of the classic pool and beautifully manicured grounds, each umbrella creates intimate spaces where new memories can take root.

Guests often remark on the seamless way the property honors its heritage while embracing modern comfort. Under the soft blue canopies, morning coffee conversations stretch into afternoon planning sessions, and evening cocktails become impromptu celebrations. The umbrellas don’t just provide shade; they frame moments that will be remembered long after the vacation ends.

Some places are destined to bring people together, generation after generation, creating an endless tapestry of shared experiences.
