The secret’s out…

Visitors to the Christopher Kennedy Compound, Modernism Week Showhouse at Villagolightly were the first to experience Santa Barbara Designs’ soon-to-be-released Rivazzurra Double Decker umbrella. Designed by New York Times bestselling author and fine art photographer, Gray Malin, the Rivazzurra is one of four Limited Edition umbrellas inspired by Malin’s favorite beachscape photos being produced by Santa Barbara Designs and available in May 2017.

Modernism Week’s signature February Event is an annual celebration of midcentury modern design, architecture, art, fashion and culture. This exciting festival takes place in February in the Palm Springs area of Southern California. Modernism Week features more than 250 events including the Modernism Show & Sale, Signature Home Tours, films, lectures, Premier Double Decker Architectural Bus Tours, nightly parties and live music, walking and bike tours, fashion, classic cars, modern garden tours, a vintage travel trailer exhibition, and more

In the true spirit of modernism, Santa Barbara Designs celebrates year-round with our Double Decker design, paying homage to the iconic umbrellas that lined the poolside patios in Palm Springs some sixty years ago.
