Santa Barbara Designs Turns 40

This year Santa Barbara Designs will celebrate 40 years of making the world’s finest umbrellas. We still bench make, hand finish, and individually register every one-of-a-kind umbrella, continuing a tradition of that began in a humble workshop, those many years ago. Today we manufacture those same expertly designed, precision-engineered, fashionable outdoor umbrellas in our state-of-the-art production facility, creating a product that will exceed expectations for the next 40 years and beyond.

It’s been quite a journey from that workshop to our current home. Here then, a few snapshots from then and now.
