Style Spotlight on Show Houses
Santa Barbara Designs is pleased to have participated in some of the most celebrated Designer Show House projects in the country. Here’s a look at some of our more memorable placements.
The 2019 Modernism Week Show House, presented by Traditional Home at the Christopher Kennedy Compound in Palm Springs CA, sported several SBD umbrellas. TN designer Lori Paranjape, and L.A. based Interior/ Textile designer, Chris Barrett, created two delightfully different areas, showing off our modern side. Record ticket sales benefited numerous educational and modernist preservation organizations in CA through Modernism Week,
For the Little Rock Symphony Designer Show House, Lawrie Rash and Whitney Edwards of Ken Rash’s in Little Rock created a retro-inspired look with Double Decker umbrellas in a keyhole valance. The soft blue color set the tone for the resort-like setting, creating a tranquility and peacefulness. The Symphony Show House raised money for children’s programming.
Kips Bay Palm Beach Show House, in Palm Beach, FL debuted with SBD umbrellas gracing the loggia at the request of Miami based Outdoor Living Designer Fernando Wong. Fernando selected Double Deckers in colors complementary to the house, and added a keyhole valance to “add a historical reference to this 1920’s mansion.” The inaugural event benefited both Kips Bay Boys and Girls Club of Palm Beach.
The 2018 Hamptons Designer Showhouse, presented by Traditional Home and benefiting Southampton Hospital, was the site of summertime style. Santa Barbara Designs was selected by L.I., N.Y. The Rinfret Design Group’s Denise Rinfret and Missy Rinfret Minicucci, to shade guests as they toured the elegant property.
