Double Decker: A Nod to Modernism
Modernism Week kicks off this week in sunny Palm Springs, California. This annual ode to mid-century architecture features tours of iconic homes, hundreds of events, and show houses that combine the talents of noted designers.
Inspired by the midcentury work of Slim Aarons, whose photographs of beautiful people in beautiful settings often included two-tiered umbrellas, we created our own version of this classic, the Double Decker. It was an instant success, and has only grown in popularity throughout the years, especially as we’ve added customization options, such as the new PS Modern Valance.
